This page explains the cookies and similar technologies that Enigmerra uses. A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. We keep them to a minimum: only what the game needs to work, plus optional analytics and advertising cookies if you agree to them.
Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the game to function. They do not track you across other sites and cannot be switched off, because without them the site would not work.
- enigmerra_sid — Purpose: keeps your session so the game remembers you during a visit (for example, your login state). Type: strictly necessary. Duration: session (deleted when you close the browser).
- enigmerra_consent — Purpose: remembers which categories of cookies you allowed, so we don't ask you again on every page. Type: strictly necessary. Duration: 180 days.
Analytics cookies (optional)
Analytics cookies help us understand how the game is used so we can improve it. They load only if the operator has enabled analytics and you have consented to the statistics category. If you decline, they are not set. Depending on the operator's configuration, these may include: Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager, Meta (Facebook) Pixel, Microsoft Clarity, and Plausible. Each provider processes data under its own privacy and cookie policy.
Advertising cookies (optional)
Enigmerra is free to play and may be funded by advertising. When advertising is switched on, our advertising partner is Google (Google Ireland Limited), through the AdSense service. Advertising cookies and similar identifiers load only if advertising is switched on and you have consented to the advertising category. If you decline, no advertising cookie is set — the ad slots are not rendered at all.
The table below lists the cookies Google most commonly uses for advertising on a site like ours. Google may add or rename cookies; the authoritative, up-to-date list is published by Google under Types of cookies used by Google.

Personalised and non-personalised ads
Ads can be personalised (selected using data about your interests and previous browsing) or non-personalised (selected only from the content of the page and your approximate location, with a limited use of storage for frequency capping and fraud prevention). Personalised advertising happens only where you have given consent for it. You can change your choice at any time — see below.

The DART cookie
Google historically used a cookie called DART to serve ads based on your visits to this site and others across the internet. Its role has since been taken over by the identifiers listed in the table above (__gads, __gpi, IDE), but the principle is unchanged, and so is your right to refuse it: you may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's ad settings.
What loads before you choose
Google's loader script (adsbygoogle.js) is present on public pages even before you state a preference, so that the ad network can verify the site. It is preceded by Google Consent Mode v2 signals set to "denied" by default, which means none of the advertising cookies in the table above are set and no profile is built until you accept the advertising category. Actual ad slots are not rendered at all before you agree.
Theme preference (not a cookie)
Your light/dark theme choice is stored in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie. It stays on your device and is not sent to our server.
Managing and withdrawing consent
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the "Manage cookies" link in the site footer, which re-opens the consent dialog. Withdrawal takes effect immediately for anything set afterwards: no further analytics or advertising cookie is set, and the ad slots stop being rendered. Cookies already stored in your browser are not deleted by withdrawing — you can remove those yourself, as described next.
You can delete cookies directly in your browser. Most browsers let you clear existing cookies and block new ones from their settings or privacy menu (often under "Privacy" or "Cookies and site data"). If you clear the enigmerra_consent cookie, we will ask for your choice again on your next visit.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above.
