The Seal Plot
Not one deed but a whole scheme has come to light — laid patiently, in secret. The scheme has many threads but a single knot — and that knot bears a name. On the Chancellery's list stand Countess Velica de Arin, Petru the Herald, Balasa the Seamstress, Sava the Bell-Ringer and Luca the Squire; one of these names covers a lie. On the inquiry's table, like pieces in a game, lie the ermine cloak, the ceremonial crown, the ledger of accounts, the small wine cask and the bishop's chalice. A sharp eye is not enough here — it takes an archivist's patience: fit everything together, then pronounce your verdict.

Locations
Sealed crates, thick ledgers, and air that smells of undeclared goods.
The highest point of the fortress. From here you see everything - and from below, everyone sees who climbs up.
Empty stands outside festival days. An excellent place for meetings that never happened.
The old kings sleep beneath crested slabs. Now and then, someone disturbs their rest.
The wheel turns day and night. Its noise drowns out any conversation - which is why some are held here.
Objects
White fur with black tails - only the royal family may wear it. It has a tear at the hem.
The "wearable" copy of the true crown. At least, that was the idea.
Neat columns of figures, with one page torn out exactly at mid-month.
Arin wine, the good year. The bung was pulled and put back by an unskilled hand.
Gold set with blue stones. Blessed three times, stolen twice.
Motives
blackmail
Un secret ținut ca funia la gât, strâns exact cât trebuie.
a debt of honour
