The Night Intrigue

A plot hatched in the shadows threatens the crown, and whoever hatched it still sits at the court's table. The crown demands not only the name but the proof: suspicion without grounds is itself a tool of the scheme. On the Chancellery's list stand Grigore the Cupbearer, Luca the Squire and Brother Anselm; one of these names covers a lie. The places named in the testimonies — the guild forge, the throne room and the old chapel — each await their turn under scrutiny. Study the testimonies at your leisure, fit them into the grid, and pronounce your verdict without haste.

The culprit always lies; everyone else tells the truth.

Clues & testimonies
  1. The customs register is clear: the suspect with brown hair never set foot in the place where all is gold and purple.
  2. An honest-faced witness saw it plainly: Brother Anselm was in the place where the fire never goes out.
  3. About the culprit, the Chancellery knows one thing for certain: the culprit was in the place where every footstep echoes like a confession.
